Bigdog and Jeff Silvey

Postby Barnyard » Sun Jul 01, 2012 6:42 pm

Jeff called me today and asked that I let everyone know that he and Bigdog have both been hit with storms that cut them off from the internet until about Thursday. If you need to pm or email them you will have to wait.

Just so everyone knows, Dad's got everything but Internet. Those of you who have been to the Tug probably remember the huge maple triple-tree at the bottom of the hill, down by the road. The storm blew one of the trunks over onto the electric lines and snapped one of the utility poles at the base. Power, phone and cable lines remained intact, but the hit pulled the lines away from the house. Electric co. dropped off a new pole, but hasn't done anything with it yet, and cable company tells him it could be next Tuesday before his 'net is back on.

Thanks John, for the short few mins. it blew here it sure left a mess behind. I was lucky to have power the next day although I'm lucky to have 2 generators on hand. Some folk here will be without power for over a week.
Glad they're doing well, no internet for dad means more cuddle time.

Internet service restored this afternoon! About a week ahead of their predicted date. Our electric entrance cables and phone lines are also both ripped off of the house but the connections are still intact so no power or phone loss. Neither utility could give us a definite repair date.

Glad to hear they got you back up quicker than expected.

I love the power company around here, when there's an outage not related to a big storm, and you call, you get a recording saying that they don't know what the problem is but they expect to have service back in two hours. :big say what:

Well when I got home from work on Sunday morning we still didn't have internet. So I called somewhere I did everything they ask me to do with no improvments. Called son ask him to come over to help he as well called somewhere. He went through the same thing nothing. We set up an appointment for Thursday afternoon the 5th. Got new modem free, now my router is out. so called son again to get me a new one. All this from the storm on Saturday morning. It really stinks when we depend on the things we have in this world today. Thanks everyone try to stay Koooool.

Ours is still intermittant. It was off for several hours again today. I will be glad when things settle down but I am thankful that we did not lose power or phone lines. (even if they were ripped off the house and are still laying across the roof)
