These tests shown here are for a Cub 6 volt Pos. ground generating system with regulator. They may work with other systems but care needs to be taken. Even polarizing some systems is different and if done improperly the regulator can be shorted out.
I’ve set up these tests to basically correspond with the flow chart that is often referred to and posted on this site.( Find it here. download/file.php?id=9047&mode=view )This may or may not be the best way to test but I figure it is some thing we are all familiar with. Also doing it this way you don’t have to have a meter, but it would be helpful if you suspect or you determine that the gauge is the problem. When I do the photo mock up, gauges will be used. Like in the ignition tests if you see something wrong let me know.
One thing I’ve noticed in my experience is that it isn’t uncommon for an AMP gauge to work in one direction and not the other.
And coming soon to a forum near you, will be the photo version. I've got the test stand/ mock up working. The next step will be to set up the tests and take pictures.

Re: Charging Test Schematics
Yes, I want to thank you, also. I know many of us understand and appreciate the time involved in doing this. I am sure ALL of us will have to use this at some time. We may not WANT to, but at least this gives us a reasonable possibility of success!!!

Re: Charging Test Schematics
Great timing since I'm having charging issues that I'm planning to address this weekend - and you've made it where even I can understand it - Thanks!!
If there is a wrong way to do it, I'll find it.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words. It's always nice to see.
The photo version should be up later today. (It's now 10:20 Central)
Edit: I guess a photo version won't be coming. I've reached my limit on the photo host. (10:55)
