I'm close to having the tractor running.....at last.

I think the hood will fit without hitting the alternator.

Alternator BracketsPart of the refurb job on the '56 was to convert over to a 12v alternator system. I decided to go with the Delco 10 si mainly because it was cheap and readily available at my nearest NAPA. I had a couple of the top mounting arms from Clint that look factory made. I didn't have a bottom bracket, but wanted one to match the craftsmanship of the top. Here's what I came up with.....made with 3/16th flat bar. It takes about an 11 degree bend from the mounting block to clear the governor housing.

Re: Alternator BracketsLooks very good, glad you are happy with the bracket. I have been working on making the mounting bracket also to offer in a kit that would come with both.
Have A Nice Day!
Re: Alternator Bracketslooks good Harold. I use a very similar setup, and it clears fine. You will need to reclock the alternator to move the alternator plug but thats it. Just take out the 4 bolts and turn the front half of the case and put the bolts back in.
