I had only one of the three PROPER bolts that hold the grill on, so when I reassembled I simply used a standard bolt. The "real" one had a slight gap and thinner area between the bottom of the head and the beginning of the threads. They are item #8 of the link below:

I THINK the size I used was a 5/16" (fine?) but I would have to check. Hopefully Don will come up with it!

1/4-20 x 1/2" truss head slotted screw. originals are cad plated. I use stainless screws from McMaster-Carr.

FYI: you can find out the specs for just about any fastener in the parts books. They are available in 2 different manual resource pages listed above. Find the part that the fastener holds in the diagram and then look up the number in the following page. You will get the factory part number and any fasteners used right down to the washer spec.

Edit: Sorry, I answered for a Cub. I don't have Super A info- I have been building a spreadsheet for every fastener on a 1950 Cub as I work on the project. The one exception to the fastener listings is when it comes to specialty fasteners ( like Cub head bolts, for example) that have an IH part number. This part number is 58 141 DA, but they don't list the dimensions.

Glad you found the originals. 5/16 fine thread. I just used a regular stainless cap screw. 3/4 length.
