I know this is a Farmall forum and this may not be the safest place to ask this type of question, but I am going to go for it anyway. A friend of main has offered to sell me a John Deere LA, it is complete with minimal rust. He told me that it ran when parked, about 5 years ago. It also has a nice set of factory cultivators mounted to it. Before I think about making an offer I was curious what you guys thought it might be worth. I do not know much about John Deere values, but this machine really caught my eye as it so similar in nature to the Cub. I can try to answer any questions you might have. Also if it helps I am located in the Eastern part of Penn. Not sure how location effects value.
Thanks A.J.

Some of them in decent working shape (not refurbished) can fetch upwards of $3,500 to $4,000 that I've seen. And as always.....that is the asking price. They aren't as common to find as the Farmall Cub, and they are highly collectable.

did you try posting something on the YT forums (yesterdaytractors.com), they could help you out also.
I have been collecting, buying, and selling Farmall Cub tractors, implements, and parts for nearly 11 years.

Both L, and LA around here go at $3,500 to $4,500!!! VERY hard to find one and VERY collectable in the green croud of collectors, so prepare for sticker shock!---great little tractors---never could afford one! LOL! good luck on your deal!!! thanks; sonny

IIRC one of our members has one for sale. I think he purchased it for around $2000.00 or so .... it has been a couple years ago. He is in the North East if that is any help.
Claude one of my chums here locally let another friend use his shop to rebuild/restore his LA. His friend bought it for $3,000.00 and it needed a lot of work. Ground up if I remember. JD's up here are highly priced -- very much like Massey Harris's in some circles.

Sought after. Don't know how much you'd use it, but probably not as operator friendly as a cub. Grandpa had one for several years in truck crops.

I purchased an La with turn plow and cultivators from my neighbor about three years ago for $2300.00. It is in good running condition, only needs paint and a rear rim. This purchase was in western Va. I had sticker shock when I became interested in purchasing an L or La. Berlin
I seem to know more and more about less and less, soon I'll know everything about nothing !
