I got the lights painted for Jans cub while i was painting the '48

Black rim is one of the fronts, other large one is for the back of her cub

No , waiting till the end of the month so i can bush hog the flying field one last time this year before the change over. I've lubed and clecned it up and bushings have no play so good to go. Did up some more parts and am nearly done with paint. This first picture is of the hood on Jan's cub. she is painting a flag and eagle mural on it.

Thanks Harold. She recently got her degree in Art. It is all being painted freehand.

She is a very patriotic lady, and a Navy Veteran I am very proud of.

I can't wait till it is done and we can show it off at Stonethrow and in the parade.

I really like the "custom" jobs like this! While I like a nice restoration, it is nice to see folks do their individual work on these things. What kind of paint is she using on the hood? Are you planning on putting some kind of clear coat over the whole thing to preserve it?

Mike, I light sanded the 2150 that was on the hood, then gave it a fresh coar of the Rustoleum Sunrise Red rattlecan. After that cured, I brought it in the house to get and keep it room temp.

She is using a very thin acrylic model paint (what you would use for airbrushing) but is brush painting it on to give it a little texture but not mass. I think she said it will give it the appearance of movement and a little depth.
