Plow question and picture, numbers added

Postby Yogie » Fri Sep 21, 2012 9:24 pm

Is there a number/ code somewhere on this plow telling if it's for a Cub or a larger tractor ?
I've seen a few of them before but never one this nice. Looks to be original paint....

Hi Yogie, yes there is a larger plow for the 140 type tractors, I believe the beam is a little bigger and the plow share, I have a F 11 for a cub,the upper parts are red and the lower parts blue

Measure the moldboard at the seam with the share. 12" Cub, 14", or 16" A or 140.
Best,
Mike

the one for a cub will have a 6 and 7 as the last digit in the beam number the one for a 140 will be a 8 and 9 as the last digit in the beam part number as in left and right beam

it also looks like that one has the 4 special spacer blocks which are very hard to find which should be the same for both cub and 140 check the parts book

Those numbers are for the larger 100/130/140 plow.

The Case IH website lists those part numbers as the beams for the F11. :? Are there different sizes of the F11 or do they use the same beams (and mounting) and just put wider bottoms for the bigger tractors?

I have one of these plows. doesnt matter what the beam number is, they are the same for the cub and 140 and so on,what makes the difference is the plow it self. cub takes a 12" plow the 140 take a 14" plow. either plow will work on either tractor. my plow has a decal saying LF-1-11. with plow chief plows.

After the first pass, the width of cut is determined by where you have the wheels set and where you drive in the furrow, not by the width of the plow bottom.

Even if it is too wide, it should still work for a cub as long as you don't take a full cut.
