when was the HP increase

I have a engine with the build date 5-25-T will it be the higher HP? Thanks

The change with the HP came in 1975, but I think that it was late in the year. The cast code that you posted will not tell you if it has the added HP. One thing that you can look for if you don't have the serial number is the zenith carb, it was one of the changes that was made.

Wrong!!! the change to the New International cub with the most HP came at serial # 2481235
the first real noticeable change came at engine # 264568 in 1968 when they went to the dome pistons

with hie date code it could have been a 1972 it would have had higher HP than the earlier one

you will need the engine # it could have been a 1950 or a 1972 year engine

The engine is yellow in color and it looks to be original, there is no manifold or dist. on the engine, the man I got it from said it didn't smole and ran great, so I didn't want to open it up. Thanks for all the help.

I think Boss just let some secret production info slip. Since the last cub was serial number 253,685 and Boss is referring to serial number 2,481,235. That leaves 2.2 million and change Cubs unaccounted for. I think the Hog Waller production line is up and running better than we thought. :D :lol:
