Re: Belt Pulley Gear Box Rebuild
I poked at my 'bag' of PTO pulley stuff and found that Jeff in Ohio did send me two O rings... so we have that covered. Also found it to be an ugly, rusty mess. At least externally. Not real fond of running something like that through a sandblast cabinet, but if the gear box is empty I can hopefully clean it up enough. (got a couple of bags of black beauty for Cecil's cabinet too.)
Rudi, I may try to source the 6205-J locally. But be very careful what you get, possibly a 6205-JEM would work (EM = electric motor). I will get the 'center' bearing from a dealer, 351274R91 it is not something I will risk a 'good enough' fit to save a couple of bucks. They are $26.
The KOYO/Torrington B-1210-OH bearing goes in the TRANSMISSION. (soon I hope)
The gasket, center bearing, plug (16-684R1) and HyTran will come from a dealer.

Ok, I just checked with Messicks. None in stock but available. I wonder if Columbia has them in stock. If so that might be an option for me. Will know in a bit.
And I will pay attention to the 6205J. Question -- if I cannot get the J, do I try the Timken 205BB ?

Re: Belt Pulley Gear Box Rebuild
Since I had it on the bench, I took it apart.... almost. Enough to get the get the 'mystery' bearing out. It is marked 'Hyatt 1204T' and runs directly on the shaft (no inner race, roller bearing). Hyatt is long gone and not sure about NHD (New Departure/Hyatt). Bigger project than I hoped. Still having trouble with the PTO end, but got Mr Kroil on the job.
Can't expect a dealer to stock everything, Ken at C&G told me that if it's in the warehouse he will have it before the store opens in the morning. As for the 6205, the ST 225B (superseded by 210041) is available from a dealer or TM.
In my experience, you won't save much or pay more getting bearings or seals elsewhere and risk getting the wrong thing.
I have everything I need to put my long stripe tranny back together.... I guess the only reason I am fooling with the belt pulley is I am tired of the Mott leaking on my driveway Mushrooms at every turn.
I would recommend you start taking it apart now.

I am working on getting it apart now. Dunk tank is almost full.
I cannot find the ST 225B/210041 bearing on TM's site. I know I am missing something but whatever it is, it is beyond me tonight ...
Does this look like the bearing you took out?
Hyatt 1204T Radial Bearing
Seems it is out of stock as well. Not sure what condition mine is in... I guess I need to take it apart in the next couple days or so. Gonna keep checking on the bearings.

Re: Belt Pulley Gear Box Rebuild
Yep, that's it.
Don't make it harder than it is... order the Hyatt, ST 225B's (6205), gasket and the seal that is still available (#34) from Columbia and have it waiting for you. Also, Hy Tran.
The other seal (#44) is on Amazon for $8.66 and I will get mine there as soon as I figure out what will make $25 for free shipping.
ST 225B is the 6205-J, it is the same bearing as the PTO shaft. Check the back of the parts book (index by part number).

Re: Belt Pulley Gear Box Rebuild
Update on #37 351 274 R91.... it is no longer available in the CNH supply chain! The one I pulled out actually looks decent enough to use and I am very particular about bearings.
I will continue to look, because I want to rebuild the one on the FH Mott on the Lo Boy, that one always seems to have water in it, bad for bearings.

Ok, I kinda think I got this .... I think. Come Monday I will get all my ducks in a row, get the rest of the stuff I need. Cecil has taken care of the gaskets. I am going to order the stuff from Columbia and have it held for Cecil. Hopefully I will get everything correct. Will let you know what I find.

Re: Belt Pulley Gear Box Rebuild
I talked to Mike Albrecht at Columbia -- nice guy, helpful etc., good to deal with. Unfortunately not all is currently available but hopefully will be there Thursday afternoon. Road trip to Columbia.
Seems Gaskets are NLA in the CaseIH Parts stream and ... big surprise neither is the 351 274 R91 bearing. This is the Hyatt 1204T IIUC from Larry's posts.. Mike is going to see if he can find a substitute for the Hyatt. If mine is still good, that is fine, and if he finds the bearing then I will have extra parts cause I have a few more Belt Pulley Gear Boxes
He thinks we may have to make the gasket -- so I am wondering what thickness gasket material do we need. I kinda think it is 1/16th or so cork, am I in the ball park or a bit thick/thin???

Re: Belt Pulley Gear Box Rebuild
Rudi, I think that is a "paper" gasket, so the cork would be too thick.

Re: Belt Pulley Gear Box Rebuild
The hyatt 1206 for the rear countershaft crosses to an SKF nu206.
Using that logic, the 1201 crosses to a nu201, which shows up here:
http://www.consbrgs.com/page.taf?detail=158_1_2
with dimensions of 32 mm OD, 17 mm inside rollers, 12 mm inner ring ID and 10 mm wide. How close is that?

Re: Belt Pulley Gear Box Rebuild
Rudi, guess you missed my post about that bearing being NLA??
I figure it's better to juggle 3 Cub projects, so I thought I would swap the spindle on the fast hitch C-2 (heats up the belt, bad!). You know, an hour project that turns into a mushroom farm. Wrong time of year to fool with a mower, but I did have a spare spindle. Have a new spindle pulley bushing on order from C&G along with the seal that is still available for the right angle pulley (#34-- 19857D). I also ordered 4 - ST 225 B (new number now) bearings. I guess he will just skip the gasket, cause that was in the mix too.
I may reuse the old gasket with my new favorite stuff, Hylomar. Or just Hylomar, it seems to be great stuff. Still waiting to see how well it holds up on the the engine (oil pan, front cover etc).
I think the bearing is 30mm x 45mm 13mm wide. Bermuda Ken gave me some cross references GM 7453824 (no luck) and a few today that I have not tried to track down yet, Caterpillar 1M6847 and 4F4061, Bower HM1204EL and Nice 1204T.
No wonder that thing has been sitting in a bag since I went to your Cub fest....

Re: Belt Pulley Gear Box Rebuild
Ok.. I guess I messed up the number. Hyatt 1204T ... using ntrenn's logic I am searching for an skf nu1204 and see what that looks like.
What I found on the SKF site was a 1204EKTN9 .. have no clue if this is the right one or not -- here is the link for those who understand this a whole lot better than me...
Self-aligning ball bearings, cylindrical and tapered bore
Found this one on SKF 1204 ETN9 Radial Self-Align Ball Bearing 20mm NEW
As you can see it says 1204 E on the outer bearing cage.
The Hyatt in the previous post is out of stock. Most of the Hyatt 1204's are out of stock....
If others more knowledgeable can confirm that this bearing would be the one we need, then I can pass it along to Mike and see if he can get em in time, if not then I can get this one maybe.
Cecil:
Okay on the gasket material.
Bob:
Ok.. the seals as requested are in the total amount I have on order.
