Re: Busy BeesMay your supers fill well.
On another note; I heard a theory that colony collapse is caused by the amount of radiation in the air from cell phones an WIFI. Best,

Re: Busy BeesI'm glad to see you have some bees, Don. I got an active hive late last summer and put it out next to my garden. I think I had the most tomatoes per plant this year than I have had in years. It had gotten to the point around here that you just didn't see any honey bees in the garden. I had a neighbor tell me a few months back that he saw a bunch of bees in his garden this spring and all I said was "you're welcome".
I got the bees for the garden and the honey is just a plus. Roy
Re: Busy BeesBees fascinate me, and also freak me out a little.....but I am glad to see your hive is doing well. They are important little boogers!

Re: Busy BeesMy wife started 2 hives next to our garden this spring. Our first attempt at beekeeping.
We unded up with 10 gallons of honey! Not too mention all the flowering plants did awesome! Justin
Re: Busy BeesI'm planning on getting into my hives tomorrow. Maybe I can pull some honey.
Re: Busy BeesLooks good, Don.
We have had a hummingbird feeder out back of our house for years. This year, we had honeybees visit. Never had that before. They also liked our late peaches (just stopped picking last week). Many of the fallen fruit was smashed and laid open--the bees found 'em. It smelled like fermented peaches around the trees and I believe the bees REALLY were enjoying themselves! Glad for 'em. Couldn't have much of a garden w/o 'em. Stanton

Re: Busy BeesI ended up with about 7.5 gallons from my single hive. They're still very active, so I hope they survive the winter well.
