Probably around 6 inches of snow here in mid west West Virginia, mountain areas were to get up to 31 inches today. It's still snowing yet and our power was off for about 4 hours. Many places still out... A lot of trees here still have leaves and those are the ones that are falling. Really wet snow .... I'm guessing school will still be out tomorrow.

They were forecasting Sandy to hit us with a minimum of 100mm's of rain, winds in the 100kph range so folks around here started getting ready. Runs on genny's and other stuff - Costco was a sellout almost on water and other essentials. So far Sandy is a non-event. Not much wind, a little mist, we had rain yesterday morning but less than 3-5mm's. Tomorrow we are forecasted to be 18C with approximately 10mm's of rain. We shall see. I am just glad we didn't get hit and I am relieved that most of our East Coast Cubbers are safe and sound.

Must have paid cash for the van. Down here you have to have tag and insurance to drive off the dealer's lot I think. And if the truck weights over 4000#, you have to buy enough tag to cover truck and payload.

How long has he owned the van? Here (last time I checked) we had 30 days to notify the insurance company. In the meanwhile, the newly purchased vahicle has the same coverage as your best covered auto. He needs to check with his agent.
He had it less than a week. I didn't ask, but the owner must have driven it there and removed the tags after closing the deal. Insurance laws vary from State to State and insurance companies have a lot of clout here since it is a major industry in the State.

In the Berkshires, damage by wind was a few trees here and there. Power company/tele co. had trucks out and parked in strategic areas awaiting damage control -- I was impressed at their planning. Saw a pair of pines on a roof, leaning...otherwise folks seemed to have survived. Traveled into NY state yesterday to Hawthorne Valley and the story was the same.

We dogded the bullet here, it seems most the time we were actually in the eye of the storm, pulled 24hr straight storm duty never lost power at home or on the job, fence is up and hope everyone else faired as well. I was wondering if Bill( beaconlight) was on Staton Island or Franklin???

Here is some minor flooding in Westport...it's all about the tides. Minor storm for us...nothing like Hurricane Bob or Gloria. Had some 84 mph gusts that took off roof shingles. Never lost power.

I was re-assembling my cub engine when the power went out. Got it together last night and fired it up. Engine probably due for a bore job, but it'll work for now.

Hi Cub fans and I don't mean Chicago. We are fine in NE Pa. Some wind and rain about 1 1/2 inches but no loss of electricity or tree damage. We were very lucky compared to Eastern N. J. and Long Island N.Y. Thanks for being concerned. Harry
