Is it THAT Rare??

Postby AL Farmall Boy » Mon Nov 12, 2012 10:19 pm

Is it me, or is this bumper priced a little too high....more like WAY too high. Heck, I've got one just like it that came on the 184 LoBoy and I've been trying to practically "give it away" only asking $75 and no takers. Well....compared to his price it would be giving it away.

Yep, got one here also. It pays to say it is rare, whether it is or not.

Funny thing, I have a guy local to me who has a shop FULL of farmall stuff, and alot of it is for the Fcub. I have been over a couple of times looking at stuff, and he never ceases to amaze me at what prices he expects. Typically its 4 to 6x what its worth. I would love to know who people like these are selling this stuff to?!?

What's really funny is that I'm pretty certain that was NOT offered from IH as an option. I've seen lots of parts and option manuals, and have never run across one of those listed or pictured anywhere. Same as the ones offered for a standard Cub.

I can also assure you that there is not an equipment or implement manufacturer ANYWHERE that would have just welded on those tabs where it bolts to the frame. Quite possibly the part that needs to be the strongest, in this case, is absolutely the weakest point. Any tru manufacturer whould have press/bent those ends, or doubled up the material if it had to be welded together. That piece is something that was fabbed up in someone's home shop.
