Plowing LeavesCan't ever say I've used snow removal equipment to rake leaves but with branches and other storm debris intertwined with the leaves, one pass with the grader blade made a clean pass.

Re: Plowing LeavesI pushed and pulled leaves with the 100 blade Wednesday night after they got too deep for the 5hp blower.

Re: Plowing LeavesI also use the "snow" blade to move the leaves when piles are too big for the rake. I have the blade tilted forward so the bottom edge doesn't dig into the ground.
I hope this image works, it is from my wife's Facebook page. ![]() Paul Van Benschoten

Re: Plowing Leaves
Maybe for some, but I like the Cub seat time. After all, it is a Cub forum and I don't know about the other members, but I like seeing new uses for them. I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: Plowing LeavesMy leaf problem depends a lot on how much wind we get vs. how fast the leaves are falling. They tend to end up pre-piled in two places. When I'm really lucky, they end up on somebody else's property. Only once have they accumulated in a place handy for tractor access when I had a blade on a tractor. The blade was belly mounted, which didn't seem workable. I was wrong. With the help of the front wheels and the belly of the tractor, I was amazed at how big a pile of leaves I could push at one time.
Re: Plowing LeavesAin't nobody strapping a backpack on me, had all of that I want. If the hand held won't do it then get out the 5 hp. on wheels. finally finish up with the Cub. Dale, strap an 8+ hp. blower on one end of you tractor and put a blade on the other!

Why burn all that gas having two engines running? I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: Plowing LeavesPersonally I think the sound of a well tuned Cub is a lot more satisfying and relaxing than the screaming whine of a leaf blower. After all of the years of putting up with yard equipment rattling my brain, I really do enjoy the peace and quiet that seat time on a Cub provides.
Speaking of which, I got a fair amount of seat time today. Will post on that later. Cub time is the best time and I like others really enjoy finding new uses for my implements or new implements to fill my uses Confusion breeds Discussion which breeds Knowledge which breeds Confidence which breeds Friendship
