All advice and suggestions are gratefully accepted and I agree about Bill's advice. The local dealer doesn't seem to have any parts or hasn't offered me any
It is only speculation on my part that he didn't look at the machine this last time. Because of the parts issue is why I reached out to try and grasp any straw
Like you, Rudi, I want to try to keep mine running as long as I can.
This is a saga, isn't it? Seems like all my issues become such.
Probably because you have to type real slow in order for me to "get it", sometimes

Since this is now, officially, a saga I have 2 new gaskets, a spacer flange and the whole filter thing coming. With the new fuel line, everything should be sealed and draw a vacuum to pull the gas to the carb. Since it ran without the primer before, I held off on that for the moment to see if I can get it to fire.

oh please, please let it fire Sure would be nice to solve the issue. I think you pretty well are on the right track. Without the vacuum it makes it hard to draw fuel. To me the lack of the primer bulb may allow air to infiltrate .. but it should still hit at least once or twice. If it still doesn't start, get that primer bulb in there. Mine had a pin hole in it which is what lead to my problems -- not knowing that I kept hittin on the primer bulb to get fuel in to start and because the vacuum was broken it wouldn't start. The repetitive pressure eventually collapsed the bulb and a large split appeared in the rubber.

I'm hoping that, since it fired before without the primer, it will again This no fireproblem happened at the same time I changed carbs.
