Nice Find

Postby wagonmaster » Sun Nov 25, 2012 8:48 pm

I found a nice looking 147 with a recent paint job and a 48" deck on craigs list for $350. It needs a little tinkering but it drove on my trailer and i only had to travel 6 miles to get it. It's not charging and the electric lift won't work, but i'll get it figured out over the winter. Now i have one for mowing and one that i can leave the blower on

Congrats on the find and purchase. I would clean all the wire connections first then polarize it. If it still doesn't work then i would clean the contacts in the regulator. If it still doesn't charge then rebuild the S/G next.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Forget about polarizing a starter/generater. It gets polarized every time you hit the starter switch.
