Expensive heat!I saw this on Craigslist tonight. A Mason jar full of wood doesn't go to far.
I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: Expensive heat! It's just to get your attention and to figure out the price of a cord of wood based upon the indicated prices.
Liquid quart = 57.75 cubic inches. Cord of wood = 4' x 4' x 8 ' x 144" divided by 57.75" x $150= $47875.324 Mind you that is not the delivered price. Delivered price is based upon mileage and additional labor cost for unloading and stacking. Additional fuel charges may apply. I have an excuse. CRS.

...but it is easy to stack!
Re: Expensive heat!"..go to far."
Teasing the guy about using "quart" instead of "cord" when you're using "to" instead of "too"?
Re: Expensive heat!
My point wasn't about the person's grammar or spelling. Some people are not good at their spelling and word usage so I wouldn't want to ridicule the person because of that. My comment was a joke about the size of the product. A quart of wood is a very small amount for that kind of money. I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: Expensive heat!99% of my posts are tapped out one character at a time on my smartphone. It has a combination word recognition and spell check program (somtimes known as autocorrect) that works quite well, but occasionally has a miscue.
If you are not familiar with word recognition, after the first few characters of a word are typed, the program predicts what you are trying to spell and automatically completes it moving on to save time. "To" and "too" are two words often screwed up by autocorrect and easily overlooked upon proof reading the text. "Sh*t" often appears for "shut" so I really have to pay close attention because you never know what will be inserted, usually the word used most frequently and apparently I use "shut" less. I give everyone the benefit of doubt when it comes to spelling or grammatical errors because sometimes spell check isn't used or an autocorrect substitution is made which is simply over looked during proofreading because you knew what you meant to type. For a little more humor on autocorrect jackpots people have gotten themselves into, look here: http://www.damnyouautocorrect.com/ "HAVE ALL YOUR DELIVERIES MADE BY UNION DRIVERS"
Re: Expensive heat!OH OH it went over wrong. I like Joe my BIL but he would still spell it that way.

Re: Expensive heat!
Yeah, too bad some want to comment on the spelling instead of the humor that was intended for the quantity of wood. I tnd to leav out lettrs now and thn when I typ. Not only is it quickr, but being retird and on a fixd incom, it is cheapr than buyng all thos vowls. I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. Re: Expensive heat!Bill you remind me of an Email a ways back the words had the first and generally last letters right and the rest what ever. You could still read the story and understand it. It was the most amazing thing.

Re: Expensive heat! That was what happened to me when I first read the ad, I saw what I expected to see and that was a cord and not a quart. Took me awhile to figure out what Bill was referring to ... course once I realized what the guy had written it was kinda humourous.
Spelling and typos can create some rather funny situations. Course my English Grammar teacher would probably blow a gasket if she was still with us ... Confusion breeds Discussion which breeds Knowledge which breeds Confidence which breeds Friendship

Re: Expensive heat!I found humor in buying wood by the quart at that price.
Then I tried to figure out what he really meant and I was stumped (sorry I thought maybe cord but that seemed so far removed from quart. But I couldn't come up with anything else.
