Windows questionThis might be a dumb question, Let's say somebody I know, used to use a different user name like "bobperry" then he changed it to "Bob Perry", His computer defaults to the old "bobperry" and the old p/w whenever he goes to log in (same thing happens with his work email). How does that "friend" overcome this? Funny thing is, on his laptop, he re-installed windows recently and even that computer does it.

Re: Windows questionHe might try going down to the lower right corner of this page and clicking on "Delete all board cookies ". After he logs back in, it might be fixed.
Re: Windows questionHe did that and it logged him out, so he went to log in and it went back to

Re: Windows questionMakes no sense because the Geek Squad at Best Buy re-loaded Windows last week and he lost all his files and programs, how can this be. He's tried x3 with the forum cookies.

Re: Windows questionBob:
to what Jim said What browser is bobperry using It isn't an OS problem it is a browser problem - the history, cache and cookies all need to be deleted now. These have been restored every time you have tried to log on to the site. Delete the board cookies again then go through you history, cache, cookies etc., in your browser and delete them all. This is one of the reasons why I like Opera - very easy to go through and fix little irritating things like that - by site which is really cool. ' One thing I have learned in 20 years of fixing the Geek Squad's computer repairs is that it is usually cheaper to get someone you know who KNOWS what they are doing to fix yer puter. Of course I guess I shouldn't be to persnickety - they are the reason why I have my Cubs Confusion breeds Discussion which breeds Knowledge which breeds Confidence which breeds Friendship

Re: Windows questionJim, depending on your windows version you might try this in case it is stored on your computer. Open Windows help and type password, you will get several selections. Click on "Manage stored passwords, certificates, and other credentials"
You should then see this help window. I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: Windows questionAhhhh.. Bob:
You can tell your friend bobperry that since it is in Chrome it is an easy fix. Go to the Customize and Control icon on the top far right of the address bar, right click, scroll down to history and then you can do the same thing I do in Opera and Chrome - delete cookies etc., by site. Try that and see what happens. I would go through and read the history though, it will provide a rather interesting snapshot of your usage history.
