Touch Control Rebuild

Postby triton99 » Mon Dec 17, 2012 10:43 am

Finished rebuilding TC and used Indian Head gasket seal on cylinder head and block cover gaskets. When reassembling/tightening the block I noticed gasket seal oozing out between head plate and gasket. My question is should I removne the cylinder head and block and check for too much gasket seal. Haven't added hydraulic fluid yet.

If it e's oozing out between the head and th gasket, I hope that it isn't oozing into the passages of the TC block. I fear that your gasket might be bad now if you remove it, so best prepare for that possibility.

There is no need to remove the parts. Indian Head that is exposed will dissolve in the fluid. If you need to remove it, it won't damage the gaskets. It's not a glue and sets up hard. Easy persuasion with a knife and you can peel the gasket back off whole and un-damaged.
