This is my '48 cub in 1948 with my aunt and her friend. I guess the nose ornament was originally not a sticker - long gone unfortunately. I've added back a few things since my last restoration pics - I'll upload them next sunny day.

I like those old photos. They always give a view of the days gone by. Thanks for sharing.
I edited your post to show the photo. Your link was to the page the photo was on and not to the photo itself.

Speaking of old photos', I just received this one with no information so I can't credit a source. It appears to be from the WW ll era at a defense plant.
The tractor tires are interesting.

The original product ID on the hood would have been a water transfer decal. They didn't hold up well when stored outside.

Re: Vintage Picture
Last summer, a bunch of B-25s gathered at a nearby municipal airport for a 2 day show. It was really neat! Those guys didn't just sit around with those planes, there was at least 3-4 in the air at any given time and there were always planes taking off & landing. On Sunday morning, they all took off together to make the short flight to Wright Pat. air Force Base, for an event there. We sure enjoyed the show!

Re: Vintage Picture
Reading Regional Airport (PA) has a WWII airshow every June that's really good. One year we had a few 25's, 2 17's, and even the last flying Lancaster. The past two years, we had the last flying 29. There's over 100 aircraft every year and they all fly. That plus vehicles and re-enacters. Nothing like the smell sound of massive piston engines.

Re: Vintage Picture
Nice photo. What I find interesting is the vastly different paint colors between the Cub itself and the Universal Mounting Frame. Wouldn't those have nearer to the same color/shade of red?

I believe the frames would have been blue.

Re: Vintage Picture
The mounting frames were most likely blue. Blue and red usually look quite different in a black and white photo.

Sorry Jim, it's pouring rain here and I didn't want to go to the barn so I thought I'd catch up on my reading. Maybe I should find a job!

Re: Vintage Picture
This was the set of cultivators that came with the '52 that I have. They were still on the pallet from the dealer unbtil about 10 years ago when the PO used them for the first time. They had come with the Cub when bought back in 1952.
