I don't think they are, 'least not the earlier 123's. It looks taller because the hood is setting taller. As Jim said I think AV2 might be a frankentractor.

The bottom spacing between the last "groove" on the two grills is different. Does anyone know why?

It's because the radiator is taller. The engine itself is the same height.

That makes up for the taller radiator.

Re: Super AV and AV1 Differences?
With the help of Boss, I spoke with a gentleman whom very versed on Farmalls. I pulled off some casting dates and it has been determined this is a 130 high crop. Obviously I need to find the correct tin.

Re: Super AV and AV1 Differences?
I have seen a lot of '00 and '30 series tractors with badly bashed tin. I've also heard that the sheet metal on these tractors was exceptionally poor quality.

Re: Super AV and AV1 Differences?
I do believe finding a grill and hood will be a challenge. An 100,130, 200, or 230 grill and hood will work. If anyone has any of these parts available, I'd appreciate you letting me know. Thanks

Re: Super AV and AV1 Differences?
The good news is, your existing tin looks good enough to me you could probably re-sell it to help cover the costs of the correct pieces. I believe the hood and the center grille insert for the 100-130 is available in reproduction, if you choose to go that route.

Al,
I agree. I may sell my grill as a complete unit or do as you said and replace the grill insert. I see Steiner and Farmallparts.com. has them. If you know of someone less expensive, kindly let me k now. Thanks

I would look up OEM Tractor Parts but I expect they won't be much different in price. Also you will have to replace the whole grille, there's no separate insert on the A/B/C Super's grille.
If you decide to sell the the grille, I might be interested.

Re: Super AV and AV1 Differences?
Dale,
I have spoke with them yesterday. They have the grill insert and the bottom section. Discussions with used parts people I have come to realize the bottom section is usually always toast. This is the style of hood and grill I need.
