Farmall ASame auction Monday I got the A!---NOW I dont have to try selling my plow anymore! LOL!!--- tractor had cultivator removed and was sold some place else!--- this was the third time that the A was ran thru this same auction, and this time it sold!---they probably got a mint just for the cultivator off it,--it also had dry fert. can on it!---It dont have a drawbar of any kind on it but I can picture a 3-point made up to fit it pretty simple!---steering wheel not correct for A, but it will suffice for now ! ---has a great DUPONT OVERHAUL and new sa decals on it but I think its just a plain ole A---havent had time to check for sure, tag is under left inside seat rail, probably not even right tag if seat rail has ever been changed! number starts with FAA- and thats all I remember since I was on a moving mission to beat this storm that was moving fast behind us! thanks; sonny
Re: Farmall AHydraulics and starter facing forward = Super A. No hydraulics and starter turned to the rear = A. If my memory holds.

Starter is in the same spot on either tractor. Super A serial numbers start at 250001. Al "12 volt conversions are for quitters"

Re: Farmall A![]() Model; FAA Serial: 337245 Engine Speed; 1540 Torque tube Code; 5-20-X Tractor has hyd. system on it.---According to a chart I found,--looks like it might be a 1953 on the year.---These charts are not always accurate, so do you come up with the same year as I did??? Also it looks to be 12-volt electrical system on it too. thanks; sonny
Re: Farmall AYep, on the year. This chart is from TractorData's web page.
1947: 250001 1948: 250082 1949: 268196 1950: 281269 1951: 300126 1952: 324470 1953: 336880 1954: 353348 In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity. - Albert Einstein

Re: Farmall ABoss is right, that looks like a pretty nice one. I am not 100% sure but I believe it would be a late enough model to have had the pancake headlights. Tin doesn't look too bad either!

Re: Farmall AYUP!!!---Right brake pedal is broke off right at the platform!---It did have a cultivator with fertilizer att. the last 2 times it was on this same auction, and the price got less and less!---this time it had the cultivator freshly removed and missing and was sold in the "back row: so dont know what it will take to get it running! After sitting on cubs, this thing is like sitting on a fat pig!---I can see that it should pull the 16" plow bottom that I already had for several years!
I was thinking it came from down south from the terbassey country the first time I saw it! Same auction,--they had a 4-seater, 2 row transplanter too!---brought way more than I could give but was nice unit!---would have been nice in our big garden! thanks; sonny

Re: Farmall ALooks like it has a steering post "brace" added, too. Could have been rolled in the past....unless the PO pulled his weight a little too much getting on it!
Re: Farmall A
I bet it is because the battery box is missing. A lot of owners removed the boxes over the years (the biggest design flaw on the A/Super A/100/130/140 is where they put the battery) and when you do, the instrument panel will flex right much. Enough to alter engine RPM and even move the touch control a little bit in severe cases. Al "12 volt conversions are for quitters"
