I need a little help with my new cub.Ok so my new cub has decided to be a little finicky with me about starting, and I'm having some trouble getting her started.
It is on the 6 volt system still and has a rebuilt generator. I currently suspect the carb to be part of the problem as every time I turn the gas on, it goes straight onto the ground. I took the carb off and think the float stop could need to be bent down as I dont think its where it's supposed to be. I have not checked spark yet because the carb seemed to be an obvious problem. Re: I need a little help with my new cub.Yeah first things first is to address the carb. Looks like it needs to be pulled down and given a good cleaning. Sounds like trash in the needle and seat assemble. I would clean all that, clean the fuel strainer on the fuel bowl unit and drain all old gas. Maybe while your in the carb just rebuild it. Doesn't cost that much.
Re: I need a little help with my new cub.
Well one good thing about this cub is the gas tank had no old gas in it and what is in there now is fresh 93. The PO had cleaned the tank so it is spotless. Josh Blair in Mt.Pleasant TN

Re: I need a little help with my new cub.The problem I see with that you tube video is that the guy has a TSC kit and the guy points out some of the problems with that kit (long threads on seat, wrong instructions, etc.) and still uses it in his video. The only good video would be one using all parts that will make the job easier for the novice.
There was a carb repair video made almost a year ago at DSCF showing the right stuff and I have not been able to find it on the forum. Has it ever been posted? I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: I need a little help with my new cub.Josh ask mom to help you swap to see if you can get the new one running and then move it back. She might offer to help. Moms are like that. Some of the greatest people in the world. Of course I wouldn't ask till after christmas or she may do the carb swap and have you cook the turkey.

That’s correct and I should have pointed that out before I posted that video. I also assumed part three would have automatically loaded after part two concluded another error on my part. This was the only video illustration I could find that named Farmall.com for reference of specs and illustration of float adjustment at the time. Please feel free if you find an improved video delete and insert…. Re: I need a little help with my new cub.well i believe the cause of the problem is a STICKY float/needle valve. I tried to take the pin out of the float and it won't budge.

Re: I need a little help with my new cub.Gently tap on end of the pin sticking out from the pivot point. Once moved the pin can be removed with needle nosed pliers. The pin not moving in it's anchor points is not a concern. The float should easily pivot on the pin. I have an excuse. CRS.
Re: I need a little help with my new cub.
No Im talking about the actual valve that the float controls is sticky. sorry for the misunderstanding. Josh Blair in Mt.Pleasant TN
