Re: Plowed some snow todayRudi, the center 6' blade began life as a 3pt hitch blade from Central Tractor Farm Supply. I purchased it at an auction for $35, using only the blade and part of the center swivel. I scrapped the rest of the 3pt. I fabricated the center mount for the cub from 2" od. pipe and other metal for support etc. You can see in the pic with the arrows that the attachment point to the tractor is at the rear cultivator attachment points on the fast hitch mounting to final drive brackets. The center blade up/down is the only thing now controlled by the original touch control lever. The center blade does not interfere with the fast hitch or bale. If I want the blade to drop below the level of the tires I do drop the front of the fast hitch bale down a notch or two with the lever on the right fender. If I were to fabricate another blade like this I would try to incoorperate some sort of spring trip mechanism into the blade. Pushing snow out of the driveway and across the highway, one time I caught the blade on one of those centerline highway yellow reflectors, put me right up against the steering wheel. The reflector is still there, and I avoid it now. One other thing that is critical when using a 6' blade is to get the center/swivel point of the blade at the right point to allow full swivel left and right without getting into either the front or rear tires. My front axle is most narrow in adjustment, and I had to use the blue flame wrench to heat and curl down 6 or so inches of the top outer edge of the blade where it turns back horizontal so the chains would not catch the blade.
Hopes this helps. ![]() ![]() ![]() I try to keep mine to a minimum

Yup, that will help a lot. I think that is a pretty neat modification and a nice fabrication project for those so inclined. I have said this before and will say it again, your hydraulic modifications to your Cub are simply outstanding Confusion breeds Discussion which breeds Knowledge which breeds Confidence which breeds Friendship

Re: Plowed some snow todayOK... So what do the 4 valves each do? I get three valves in use plus the touch control. TC=center blade up and down. Valve 1=center blade side to side adjustment, Valve 2=Front blade up and down, Valve 3=Front blade right-left adjustment. Is Valve 4 a spare?

I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: Plowed some snow todayDan:
That little problem depends on what browser you are using. Opera does that to me but IE and Chrome do not. Now got a question. What is the size and stroke of the cylinder that is on the lift rod ![]() Confusion breeds Discussion which breeds Knowledge which breeds Confidence which breeds Friendship

Re: Plowed some snow today
Rudi, I am a pretty simple man, I use internet explorer as my web browser with yahoo as my home page. Now for your question; the cyl. that is in the pic with your question, is a 1 1/2" cyl. with a 5" stroke. The rear fast hitch now uses a 2 1/2" bore cyl. with a 6 1/2" stroke. I try to keep mine to a minimum
Re: Plowed some snow todayGot a 100 blade or equvilant to go on the back? Then you can pull the snow from in front of the garage doors. Very nice setup BTW!
