Update on my Dad

Update on my Dad
I want to start off by giving all of those who have given me words of encouragement this last year a big Thanks. I will continue to need it and the distraction FarmallCub gives me, in the upcoming months.
Dad has multiple health issues, most as a result of medications/treatments he received through the VA in the late 50's early 60's. They thought back then it was a good idea to treat his psoriasis with Methiolated Mercury cream, and then years of Methotrexate. Nothing like heavy metals in your bloodstream.
He is dealing with reduced liver function, kidney function, he has had heart surgery to repair an aortic anurysm and has a titanium valve. He has another one where the arteries from his legs join. He is on blood thinners so his valve don't clot, has internal bleeding and has been given 4 pints of blood the last 4 weeks, but, they can't find the source. This thickens his blood.
Everything they do, affects another issue. so treatment is always the lesser of 2 evils. Dad is 73 and has led a good life. I just received word that he is bleeding again and will need more blood today.
All in all, the DR.'s have given him up to 7 months. our goal right now is to get him back on his boat fishing one more time.
keep us in your prayers. he is not in pain, just slowly going down hill.

Dale is that salt water or fresh water fishing. I pray the Lord to give him the one he wants or even both.

Re: Update on my Dad
Bill, that would be fresh water fishing
Dad has a 24' pontoon boat that is rigged out just for fishing. We fish lake chicamagua (Tn River) below the Watts Bar dam most of the time. Crappie, catfish, redfins, shellcrackers, rockfish (stripers), and even spoonbills.
Does not matter what or if we catch, Dad don't eat them. LOL
He has me and 4 or 5 friends that go up to 3 times a week, regardless the weather, as long as 3 of us are on the boat.
IF, we get him home, he will make it to the water.

Dale,
Thoughts and prayers with you, your Dad and family. Good you could spend the time you have fishing with him, many people can't say they had that opportunity, I hope you are able to wet a few more hooks!

Dale , I hope you can get yourself and your dad on the water again before to long. That is a wish I would also have for my dad and myself if I would have been given the chance.

Jim, it is not looking good. I was at the VA at 5 this AM. Came home for a few hrs and to gather up some more family. The have just transferred him to the VA Hosp. in Nashville, in association with Vanderbilt Medical University.
Going to be a long night
