I'm going to sell my truck by the end of January 2014.
I will be selling my 6 1/2 x 16 flat bed trailer as well.
I will need to get another trailer, just not one so big I think.
I'd like to get one just big enough to haul the loboy from time to time.
It will also get used to bring home mulch, dispose of yard waste, and other utility purposes.
Anyone have knowledge of smaller two-axle trailers I can look at and where to find them?
I want this to be the last trailer I buy.

Consider the vehicle that will pull the trailer. Perhaps a one-axle 3500 rated trailer would do the job. For the Cub, a 10 foot trailer is just barely adequate for length and leaves no room to move the tractor fore-aft for weight distribution. A 12 footer is better. It is highly desirable to be able to transfer some of the trailer load to the hitch on the towing vehicle. Better traction and handling, within limits. A tail-heavy trailer is NOT GOOD.

Telephone yellow pages for your area. In central Missouri there is a trailer shop in just about every small town one drives through.
I have a smaller home build trailer with drop down end gate that serves as a ramp for loading Cub Cadets. Sides and front are about a foot tall. Great for hauling loose items and as a farm work trailer towed by the Cub. But not heavy duty enough for hauling a Cub.
Just my opinion. Keep the flat bed trailer and build or obtain a small 2 wheeled trailer, pick up bed sized, for loose hauling and garden or farm work.

Bus Driver said it all like it should be said. Even with the shorter trailer you want trailer brakes.

I've owned several different styles but love the single axle 12 I have now the best. Works great for everything I need done, hauling cubs, dirt or anything in between. I've noticed over the years a single axle trailer is really handy, easy hook up and used way more than a double axle.

I recently got a 12 foot trailer with 12 inch high wire mesh sides. It is equipped with brakes, and I pull it with a Ranger equipped with the factory tow package. it works out great. One word of warning, to keep it from being tail heavy you will need to back a cub onto it.

This summer a friend brought home a new single axle from a local dealer. Loaded up a tractor and discovered no stake pockets to drop the chains through!
Took it back and learned the pockets were "optional" on that brand... $100.00 more. Watch out for stupid little things like that.
