Chain marker bracket for my 172

Postby Kirk-NJ » Sun Jan 20, 2013 8:34 am

When to a our tractor club swap meet yesterday and seen a rusty old cub for sale for $1500. I ask the owner if he still had the planner with it. He said no that's how he got it. I asked him if he was interested in selling the little bracket up by the steering wheel. He said sure what is it used for? I told him and asked how much he wanted for it. He said $5 if we can get it off. We did and I also picked up a one point for a FH to weld on my new cole planter and a belt pulley for one of my fords. Had some Hobo stew. All in all a good day. I quess it's the little things that make me happy.

There are two widths on the fast hitch points. Make sure you have the correct one for the Cub before you start welding. :D

I already tried it in my fast hitch and it fits like a glove. It looked like the smaller size and the guy thought it might have been off a cub. For $5 I took a gamble and it payed off.

Kirk:

For $5.00 it wasn't much of a gamble  Could have flogged it for 4 times that in any case. And you are very correct, it is the small things that provided the greatest joys in life - hobo stew amongst friends/acquaintances being one of em :D
