I just wanted to introduce myself and provide a quick pic of my new baby. It was negotiated into the purchase of a new home on eleven acres that we just made. This is the only photo I have as the closing will not happen till Feb 15. Serial number 513!!! Comes with 60 inch belly mower, 2 wheel dump trailer (orig IH?), fh carryall, fh rear scraper blade, and hopefully lots of other goodies too... I believe it has touch control? Can u folks comment on what is visible in my only photo? Good or bad? Yellow grill has to go obviously!!!!!

G'day to you and congrats
on acquiring your very 1st new to you Cub. Negotiating it into the purchase price is a slick way to do it ... I like that a lot
I am sure you are going to have a lot of fun getting to know your new Cub and I am sure that in the process you will probably become addicted as so many of us have. You have a somewhat large property - so you may well need more Cubs which will definitely be a symptom of Cubitits commonly seen with members of the MCC

Welcome to the Forum!
From the pic, the fast hitch is nice, as is the RPM/Tach. The yellow grille can be fixed with some paint!
All in all, it looks good. Straight tie rods, wheel weights, snow blade, low SN and it looks as if all the emblems are there.
Great snag! Congrats!

Yup, that low s/n is cool --
13th off the line (I keep forgetting to start with 01 -- duhhh
Took me a moment to see the tach but you got some goodies there for sure as Raymond pointed out. Rear chains are a plus too as they can be expensive to purchase. Getting the L-54A, 60 " Belly Mower, 2 Wheel Dump Trailer, FH Carryall, FH Rear Scraper Blade and weights all around with it is a real plus. And yes, it is quite clear that you have the Touch Control/hydraulics. I have a feeling you got a very good deal.
You can check on the other implements and such on the server pointed to above and at the links at the top right hand corner of the page. - Check these links out, they may be of use to you as you go through the implements that come with your new Cub. Cub Implement ManualsOEM Implement and Attachment ManualsTM Tractor
also has a number of Brochures
that will help you identify any of the implements that may/may not be on your list above.

Mike, actually it is the 13th off the line. The first serial number issued was 501 so you have a very early model. Sounds like you got a lot of goodies with it. Once you have more pix post them here and we will help you identify them.

If that's the two wheel dump trailer standing on it's tailgate behind the cub you mention, that's a common garden tractor dump trailer. Not IH, a little small for a cub, but I have a similar one and use it frequently. Tough to back up though, tounges to short.

Looked at the picture again, is that the belly mower leaning against the wall beside the trailer? Somebody must like to save floor space.
Is the grille really yellow or did somebody paint it white or cream and it has yellowed? Some of the bigger IH tractors, and I think later cubs, used a white grill with red body for awhile, maybe somebody was trying to mimic that. Even with a yellow grill, great looking loboy.

Tachometer, too. Sweet snag!

Looks like a nice early one. I got #876 in the garage. I am certain with 11 acer to take care of you ll need 1 or 2 more cubs to play with. Sounds like you got a great deal.
Enjoy and congrats on the new place.

Hey wait a minute that is not the original grill for that serial number but I think it looks better than the screen type, I really shouldn't talk because my LOWBOY had a piece of home radiator cover bent to replace the grill.

Bill, That is the grill style for that year, although the wrong color.
Of course anything would work in a pinch. Don't ever throw away a good refrigerator shelf.

Congrats on the home and the lo-boy....I got my first cub the same way and a lo-boy also...Those are the first symptoms of Cub fever....Now I own two...As a short story, the first one I ever operated was in 1965 as a "hold over" awaiting orders in Fort Dix NJ, mowing ammo bunkers and other greenery around the post...All I remember about it was it was Red...Dave

Good looking loboy Mike, I know you will enjoy it. I really enjoy my loboy. Get in touch with Case/IH and get you one of the new safety type gas caps. We want to keep they old Cubs around as long as possible and a that new gas cap might help. TM has instruction on how to get one if you haven't already found out.
