Snow Blower

Postby jrob69 » Sat Feb 09, 2013 1:01 pm

Does anybody have one of these? They must be quite a rare thing but I'd imagine they'd come in pretty handy on a day like today. That rotary broom must get fairly heavy when it gets plugged with snow and slush.

John:

I know a couple of members have the MB Sweepster and maybe a couple other ones a different brand. No one I know on the forum has an original IH Danco Snow Blower for the Cub or Cub Lo-Boy. The IH 50 being the exception - it is a snow thrower for the Numbered Series.

What brochure is that pic from?

Most of the IH snowblowers are single stage. I don't think the Fcub or int154 cub packs the power for a two stage snowblower with the C60 engine. But some here have added another engine to drive there after market snowblower. I wonder if a hydraulic powered snowblower would work if we added a seperate hydraulic pump and oil tank.

The best snowblower i have ever seen and used is the gravely tractor with the 8 speed transmission. Its called the L8 / super convertible. Even with the 7.6HP L head gravely engine using the older 4 to 1 ratio open sided snowblower it will throw the snow up and over the street light poles. Mine would throw heavy wet 4" of slush over the street light poles. I been thinking of getting another one just for the snowblower. I'm sure any newer gravely would work great too.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

At the speed it turns and the way the bristles flex, I doubt that plugging is much of a problem.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

The McKee Snolander is a 2-stage snowblower that is built for many different tractor styles. I have seen them on the International numbered series (154,185,184) and also on Kubotas.
The Mckee actually works better than the IH Model 50 snowthrower because of the second stage. It throws farther and is not as likely to plug up.
