Plow eye bolt shape

For the 189 and 193, the parts manual diagram makes it look like the "eye" is flat stock (square corners, not round). All the pictures I have seen (like from TM) show the "eye" portion to be round (like made out of rod). Was the "square" version early, and the "round" version later?

I have a bunch of both. From what I have been able to figure out the square head is the earlier version. I am kinda partial to the square ones.

Bob, they have other strange bolts called, clipped head,elliptical, and special plow bolts, take a look at http://www.sloanex.com

Looked to me like the round dogbone was actually cast, then the bolt part threaded?? Dusty B
