Red rimsMy 1952 cub has red rear rims. I have been disassembling, cleaning, re-gasketing and generally repairing any thing needing repair. During this process, I have seen no evidence of a repaint yet all other same year cubs I have seen have silver rims. What gives?
Re: Red rimsMy guess would be that they were sandblasted or otherwise stripped before the red paint was applied.

Re: Red rimsI believe the original rims were galvanized.
