That's pretty neat, that your wife has taken that much interest in your/her Cub. It would be nice if the wives would take more interest in our Cubs and our other interests. I'm sure if they did we'd make a whole lot more progress with our hobbies and projects. Having said that, I have one Cub so it would be my favorite. I've always said these little tractors were and are an amazing bit of practical enineering, versatile, generally easy to work on, strong for their size, and fun to operate. Lastly, because of their popularity replacement parts are readily available in one form or another and reasonably priced for the most part, that can't be said for too many tractors, especailly the newer ones.

My favorite Cub is my first one, a 1947 Circle Cub (#2116):



Given to me as a combination Father's Day/birthday gift in 2009 by my wife and daughter. It began my fascination with red tractors in general and Cubs in particular.

Many of us include our wives in our travels to Cubfests, etc. I can't say that causes them to take more interest, but they truly enjoy their time with each other and that is a good thing. It gives them a sense of inclusion into our hobby and they don't pay so much attention to us while we indulge ourselves in it. Every little bit helps.

spot on bill , my wife was a little skeptical at first . a tractor was not on the radar for sure. but, man have we had some fun . bill , it might be best if you just got one of those " wheel of fortunes " and spin it for your favorite , it would have to be a big wheel though, .coppersmythe................................

You guys are onto something with taking the wives to the Cubfests. I'm sure that gererates a certain amount of goodwill and tolerance for our hobby(ies). Clark, that is one beautiful tractor! I like the white color scheme, well done! The red ones are gorgeous too! I wish I had the time, talent, and inclination to do that. I don't mind mine being a little rough around the edges though, it lets people know it gets used for mowing, gardening, etc.

Ray since you meantioned it, I thought I would add a comment. Many of the wives were at DSCF in Florida a couple weeks back.

Many of the same folks will be at the Barnyard Bash near Cincinnati (about 4 hours from you) the weekend after Memorial Day. Reserve a room and bring the wife and kids along for a weekend get away.

Thanks, Barnyard! And while we are on the subject, the hosts of DSCF put forth a special effort to make the ladies and the kids feel special. To put it mildly, we cater to them.

Should also mention that Ms. Janet is our official "ringer of the bell" when the food is ready.

Thats why i'm broke i like them all from the cub cadets, to the int54's to the farmall cubs. And the larger farmall stuff too. I just haven't gotten to the bigger tractors yet.

Pictures of the farmall gals looks great in the sun i haven't seen the sun in many days now.

I am pretty sure someone may have said this already....but the ones I like the best are the ones built between 1947 and 1979

Love the one I'm sitting on - '71 w/sickle bar mower mowing hay, '57 plowing gardens, '59 lobby w/59" Woods (my first) mowing my lawn weekly!! Ooops! forgot the '56 lobby w/sprayer !!! Don't know yet what I'll do w/the new one????Dusty B

My least favorite cub is the one I HAVE to work on. I don't mind fixing them or working on them at all, actually I rather enjoy it, I just hate HAVING to work on one. I like doing a repair on my schedule, not the cubs. Which is another reason to have more than one, you can always switch to another that doesn't HAVE TO HAVE something done to it. I have on one occasion gone to the fourth string cub with this theory. Wasn't a good day.
