Square head rim boltsOn my 52 cub that I am redoing, I have removed the rims from the centers for cleaning/repainting. Some of the 8 square headed 1/2", fine machine thread bolts that fasten the rims to the centers are rusted to the point that the diameter of the bolt is significantly reduced. Where can I get new, replacements?

Re: Square head rim boltsIf you have a JD dealer close they can get them for a lot less. I can't remember the part number and I'm not home to check it. Somewhere in here is another thread on square head bolts and I listed the part number in it.
Re: Square head rim boltsThanks a lot. Just what I was looking for.
Re: Square head rim boltsJohn Deere part number is 08h4465. They should be just under $2.00.

Yeah, I hate to say it. I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: Square head rim boltsAs I recall, Clint, they are fine thread. If that is wrong, others will be along soon to correct the error.

Re: Square head rim boltsWe have a local JD dealer here in town. Will check and order/buy, assuming they are the fine thread.
Re: Square head rim boltsThey are fine thread.
Re: Square head rim boltsI bought a set from Mcmaster Carr online. Coarse thread though.
Re: Square head rim boltsIf you use John Deere bolts, reckon the wheels will fall off?
Re: Square head rim boltsOn my way home today, I stopped at our local John Deere dealer and ordered the square head bolts for my cub. They are fine thread, proper size(1/2" x 2") and best of all, $1.50 each in packs of 5. I ordered 2 packs (I have 4 cubs) and like to have spare parts. Thanks for the good information.
