Found a great substitute for the IH Blue paint

Postby jamieei » Tue Mar 05, 2013 9:13 am

Happened upon the closest thing I've ever seen to IH Blue for cultivators, planters, etc that was in a spray can. Of all places it was at walmart. Krylon Oxford Blue. I only see it in satin, but it looks great so far and dries fast.

An alternative to Kyrlon is Ace brand Rust-Stop International Blue (Ace Hardware stores); big 15 oz cans for $5 and a great spray nozzle gives an even pattern. Very close to IH blue.

Tried that... All the ace stores around here say they can't even order it anymore. They carry IH red, but blue seems to be hard to get.

I did an implement in Rustoleum blue. With a brush.

The Walmart brand. 97 cent paint in royal blue is as close as perfect match I have found.

Yes,the el cheapo at walmart is probably a bit closer, but it's really cheap paint. The Oxford blue is a lot better than Rustoleum blue. I tried that before I saw the Oxford Blue. Ill post some pics soon.
