Nother Auction

Postby SONNY » Fri Mar 22, 2013 9:20 pm

Went to our local annual consignment auction yesterday and a couple cubs were in the line!

they claim this one is a 1948---55231--- the blade for it sold alone and brought way more than it was worth. I missed out on the other cub, otherwise it would also have been chucked on the trailer too!---did get the little Woods RM 59 pto drive mower, a spare tire 9-24 and big hyd. cylinder.---all in all it was a good sale!---temp started out at 14* here but not much wind, then the sun was out and wasnt too bad of a day! thanks; sonny

Is that an original upholstered pan seat on there? If so, it's n good condition!

Is the RM59 a 540 PTO model for "normal" tractors? Or is it for a Cub?

You got the better of the 2 cubs that was there then. The other looked like it had a few problems and I couldn't get it to start when I was there Wed evening. Nice to see you got one, someone told me they went cheap.

Looks like a tie-on cushion. Tractor looks like a dandy, Sonny.

The other one finally started sale day,---BUT they used mine to jump start it and blew a half can of starting fluid in it!---finally got it started!--mine started in the cold!--wheeled right over! (good starter, the other one needed a starter real bad!)
it had a lot of problems, but I was bidding on it and the auctioneer missed my last bid and thought I had quit, --win some lose some!
I didnt look close at the seat, (will do that tomorrow ), the mag. isnt my fav. subject, but its working for now and generator charges excellent lights work, all 6-v has new kill switch, it does have a yellow/orange? governor on it, also has about 5 pounds of new bolts holding everything together, brakes are spot on when you hit peddles and brake lock even locks the wheels, needs new generator belt, ( I have a set of new IH belts on hand so its just a matter of changing them)---Front tires look good, steers really straight for a cub!---has drawbar, no rear rock shaft so I gotta invent one so I can use a 3-pt on this one too! hydraulic system is super touchy ---acts strong and quick.--muffler out the hood, (my other 3 are under tractor type)
Thats kinda the general story from what I see after a closer look at it! ---sorry for the long boring post! LOL!!! thanks; sonny
