c-2 rotary mower
I have a c-2 rotary mower. As like always it has been apart and put back together a 100 times. I would like to know if this is correct. If anybody has a illustrated parts brake down? Thanks Alex

Yup, here is the C-2 Rotary Mower 10-27-67 Owner's Manual and the Danco IH C-2 Parts Manual.

Re: c-2 rotary mower
Looks right, BUT that (those) pins should be spring loaded and run on the bottom of the 'slope' to drive the mower spindle. It is the 'over-running' clutch and will run up the slope when you push in the clutch (makes a loud ratcheting noise, you can also spin by hand). Pull the pulley carefully and make sure the pins move freely (and have springs) into the pulley. It is commonly neglected.

Nice pictures Larry.
I am curious, why has it been apart and put back together a 100 times? I have one for a future project and wonder if there something I should beware of.
Thanks, Lee

Lee, I have a feeling that is a figure of speech. Either that or Larry keeps very accurate records of his work.

Not me.... That mower has been doing it's job (although mostly use the fast hitch flail now) for the 7 or so years that Rufus has been in service. I did have to replace the blades and flip them once since then, granite takes it's toll. It is a good mower.
BTW parts are still available through a dealer.

Sorry Larry, I meant dagosrods must keep very accurate records.

Not to worry.... I should keep better records, I sure cannot rely on my memory!
I did replace the bushing on the fast hitch C-2, but something still isn't right about it... another project in the queue!

Re: c-2 rotary mower
It is just that a figure of speech. When you get something that somebody else has messed with did they put it together right. What I have been looking at is were the set screws go in they didn't hit in right place hit theads. And the belt guards hit pulley as I studied it for a day or two there needed to be thick washers under lower bearing to bring shaft down. Which makes screws in big nut line up with no thread area on shaft. And then pulley will not rub guards. Thanks Alex
