Snagged a barn find **better pics added**
One of my local cub friends gave me a call late this afternoon giving me a heads up on a new listing on our local sales site. a phone call and a 45 minute drive and this is the gem I am bringing home tomorrow afternoon (when I get back from fishing with Dad)(a man has to have his priorities straight )
It is a '52 and is still 6v, started on the 2nd turn (though it needs a tune up(points/plugs/wires etc.)) Pto don't engage but I have several extras , and one final bolt hole has a 3/4" bolt in it, so it will need a heli-coil. The rest is an original, honest cub, with a set of cultivators and a few extras.

Re: Snagged a barn find
Question for ya.
Why do cultivator tractors frequently have one tire mounted backwards? Is there some advantage to doing it that way or is it just an accidental coincident? Two of mine came set up with cultivators and both had one backwards rear tire.

Somebody most likely mounted the tire on the rim backwards.

They don't know if they are coming or going.
When mounting the rim to the center, it is easy to confuse. With all the width adjustments there are, once it was on the tractor, He most likely was too tired to change it again.
The gentleman was about 90 and had lived in the same place all that time. Nice fella.

Maybe they needed some extra width in a hurry and changed one wheel on the disc.

Re: Snagged a barn find
Rob, for now I am going to clean it, clean it again and again. I need to drain the turpentine out of the tank and put fresh in. Clean the carb, complete tune up and adjustments and evaluate.
But you know me.
