planter id
Picked up this walking planter/fertilizer today and was wondering if anyone knows anything about it. It is in very good shape for it's age. Tins only have one very small hole and very little rust (relatively speaking). Of course the gears are frozen, but not bad. Got em soaking now. Chain is even still on it. Any info or ideas are appreciated. Got green, so thinking maybe John Deere. But also has red & silver & who knows that else. Lol. Already got an idea on how to mount it behind the Cub for next year. I'll try to add more pics later if that'll help. I think these will be reverse order than what I intended, but don't have time to change, so bear with me. Lol

Re: planter id
I believe this is WAY pr-Cub. Lol. I already have a couple of ideas on mounting it on the full toolbar I have on the rear of my Cub. It is a mule drawn planter w/out handles on it. I was lucky to see it. He never mentioned anything about it. Someone gave it to him & it's been sitting outside where I found it for 8 years. I'm sure it would've rusted into the ground right there if I hadn't bought it. I have seen similar planters, but have never heard of a seed/fertilizer hopper setup like this. Just would like to know more about it.

Re: planter id
I don't know anything about that planter, but I'm wondering if the two cans aren't for planting two different seeds in the same row. I've heard, read, seen (not sure which) of planting corn and cowpeas or beans together. By the way, what the heck is a cowpea? John
