Iron and fertilizer do not mix

Postby Former Member » Thu May 09, 2013 2:23 pm

In the pile of stuff I brought home, were some cultivator parts that, well, have a little oxidation from laying in a pile of fertilizer. I tapped it will a hammer and 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch of metal flaked off. I think these are too far gone, even for an E-tank

I don't know... might be worth it to give it a try...nothing to lose at this point with them to give them a quick dunk...

Mike, the pictures do not do them justice. They are solid. IF, they cleaned up, they would have no streangth, and i would have to clean out the tank

Actually, it looks like the iron and fertilizer combined with moisture in air and mixed quite well.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Dry fertilizer can ruin stuff and in a hurry.
