potato hiller/buzzard wing plow

Postby dbboss » Mon May 13, 2013 2:43 pm

Thought about making a set of potato hillers, buzzard wings, tobacco plows, or whatever you want to call them, for the Cub. Does anyone have the dimensions on them and possibly a couple of good pictures showing the shape really well? Thanks! :-)

Any reason why you prefer the buzzard wing over the disc hiller? I have used both, and I would choose the disc hillers everytime. IMHO they are easier to work with and set up, and you can easily get replacement parts. Just curious.

Just something to try. You never know unless you give it a try. I've got 3 sets of disc hillers, but I've never seen a set of potato hillers around here. Might be a reason for that. Lol

I think you might be onto something there.. :D Dont see them around here either. We had an OLD two row layby plow that was three point hitch set up to lay by tobacco. I never saw anyone adjust it, and it was used once a year. It worked good for that. I guess if I had enough cubs that I could set one up with plows and never change it, It would be ok, but since I'm not a MCC member yet, I'll stick with the disc hillers. :)

I guess technically I'm in the MCC, but it doesn't matter what I put on #2, I have the head off now working on it and have never heard it run. Lol. Hopefully soon, though.
