Bull gear and the Bull Head

Postby pickerandsinger » Wed May 15, 2013 11:12 pm

Took off the sickle bar mower....Went fine till I got to the pulley...Broke that, and the spline was shot on the Pto...Had an extra shaft, so I redid the Pto and re-installed it....Got the IH C-2 in place and proceeded to try to figure out the Bull Gear install....Finally took the drawbar apart, and jacked the bull gear up and partially started the bolts...Installed the plates from the drawbar on the partially started bolts, between the bull gear and the finals and manipulated the drawbar back in place and bolted the whole thing together using 5/8 by 2 inch with an extra nut and lock washers on the bull drive so it would equal the 1 1/4.the manual called for....Then proceeded to bolt the mower brackets in place on the bull gear, with 1/2 inch grade 8's and lock nuts, so it would move freely..Very limited space for the fingers I might add....I had previously attached the lift chain and bar, so I started to install the belt but alas it is to short...I need to move the mower back a few holes to make it fit....But I ran out of steam....Tomorrow is another day.....My little paragraph has taken me a day and 1/2...And yes I had several failed variations of the project.and I need to figure out the picture thing one of these days.... :bellylaugh: Say goodnight, Dave...Thanks to everyone who precipitated....

We believe you Dave , but this is starting to sound like a lot of bull...
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.
