Model 100 spreader

Hello all! Long time - no post ;^(
but, i'm back at it again... i found myself not one... but TWO Model 100 spreaders. in the same place. at the same time! and purchased both for $400. including covers!
(I would post some pics, but the ones i have are 2+megabytes each, and i couldn't add them to the photo gallery, and i can't recall how to just embed them here... duh)

However...
the "good" one needs a gear, and the "bad" one, though complete, is pretty darned rusted. so, owner sold it to me instead of the other intersted buyer because: a) i have a Cub b) i will fix and use the "good" one and use the "bad" one for parts (specifically the missing gear), and c) i most importantly promised NOT turn it into a planter in front of my house! Seriously, this was his greatest fear in selling the "good" one to the other guy!

Anyway, i'll have a million questions over the summer while restoring the "good" one into working condition, but for now i have the following questions. I have read the Model 100 manual, but can't get what i need to know:
1. what is the maximum width (outside edge of tire to outside edge of tire)?
2. what is the weight?
3. is the gear that I need available?
Please let me know...

both units have the covers, and they look undented. apparently the "good" one in the pictures would be operable according to the previous owner, as long as i get the gear i need, and replace the bed.

does it look like there's a gear missing in the top picture?

that's exactly what I was hoping to see when I posted in here! that makes it totally clear to me now. so, the $64K question is, "where can i find one", assuming that i'd like to have both spreaders complete?

Dave, Let me check parts manuals for the 100 and 200. If it's the same on both, it will be easier to find.

Well the handwritten sign says "available at dealer". Why not try? The worst they can say is no longer available. JP's as has already been suggested, or some of the other forum members who sell things. Trying to cross the part number to being used on something else as was mentioned about the 200. IH built a lot of stuff with chain drive, surely this gear was used on several different things. The more things you know it was used on the more things you can keep an eye out for.

Looks like the gear is Item # 47 IH Part # 3334 SA Lower Cylinder Sprocket - do I have the right one





I looked on the Case On-Line Parts Lookup and closest I could get was a model 101

But if you have 2 spreaders, is the missing sprocket not on the other one or are they both missing the same sprocket

Rudi, That one has two sprockets, I think he's looking for # 34.

I read it as reference number 34. If I am reading it correctly, the part is 3335S. A quick check on Messick's doesn't get a hit. It looks like The Depot may have one.
