Brake pedal

How do you remove the left brake pedal? I need to remove the
platform for refinishing, sandblasting & paint. Do I have to press
out the long shaft, if so will this do anything to the clutch assembly?
Replacing the transmission oil seals and figured it time to do the
shaft housing & platform.
Could not fine info in my manual.

to remove the left pedal,yes the shaft has to come out, the hard part is most of the time that the pedal is seized to the shaft, some times they fall off, other times you need explosives

Thanks for your help, mission accomplished. Made a puller from a piece
of 2- 3/8" sq. tubing. Cut 3/4" slot and welded the piece on top. Drilled
and taped 1/2-20 NF. Had kroil oil in peddle for 24 hours and used puller
the brake peddle cam off easily.

I had to heat the heck out of it plus drill out the bolt.. It was the most difficult froze up thing I have taken apart on my Cub so far. I would heat it then quench with Sea Foam and heat again.

Excellent solution. Beating on the shaft with a punch is a death knell as it is soft and mushrooms easily. looks like a "tip of the week" to me.

Well, sure wish this post had been here before I went throught the antics I did with the press. I kroiled mine for 10 days and it still took a full 20 tons of pressure under heat before mine popped 1/64".

I also have a puller/press like the one above and have had some it will not even budge after being heated many times
