king spring cultivators
ebay item #220641656365... Would someone please help me with some information? Are these correct for a cub? I do not see this cluster style in the manual. All I see is the spring with a bolt on shovel.

Re: king spring cultivators
Yes they will work--BUT, that is a lot of money for a set of scratchers that is not complete.
Are you looking for a set of cultivators, or are you looking for a set of scratchers.
Considering the going price for a good complete set of 144 cultivators including the universal mounting frames are going for $300-$450, $200 for them is really high.

Re: king spring cultivators
Hi Dale, this Rob from Alabama. Thanks for the cultivator shields... I'm having a machine shop make me two diamond angle U bolts just like the original one that I have. I'll be ready to mount them when they arrive.
Scratchers... I have an exact set as the ones on ebay and paid $70.00 for them. However, they are not missing the fourth scratcher and look complete. The outside scratcher (or inside,I don't know how they mount) is twisted on a 90* angle and works like a chisel. I was thinking of using them on the rear section of the cub. Again, I have not seen this set up offered (only the No. 91 Spring Tooth Attachment) and did'nt even know if it was Farmall equipment. Your thoughts?

Re: king spring cultivators
They are made for the front, and used when the plants are small. the inside foot is more of a knife and will not cover up the small plants.

Boss, do you know where I might find two of the knife/chisel scratchers?

Re: king spring cultivators
I have a simular set. Never have used the other kind. The spring with a twisted area and then twisted back at the bottom was called a "snake tooth" by my Dad.

flwgrwr:
While these are an aftermarket item made by King, Spring Tooth Cultivators - sometimes called scratchers I guess are very much part of the Cub-144 Cultivator Tool Set
Depending on what part of the country/continent/world you are in, different tools are more common than others. Here in my part of the continent, spring teeth are the predominant type of cultivation tool and sweeps are seldom seen. I have an incomplete set that I got with my Ohio Cub (Jed), a few years ago... (Jed now resides on Ed's farm whilst Scotty is off serving his country ).

These are exactly the cultivators I inherited with/for Pappy.

Re: king spring cultivators
Is there any good information on the King Company? I've tried searching, but found nothing. Are there any manuals, or other kind of information out there? Are they still in business and making implements?

Boss:
The thread is old, the post above mine from AL Farmall Boy brought it back to the top, which is why I commented on it. By any chance have you seen any paperwork on the King Company or John Blue?
