New Cub Owner

Postby Dan Donaldson » Fri Jul 05, 2013 7:29 am

Hello everyone,

I just joined this forum and I am hoping to find information for the following Farmall Cubs and implements I acquired over the last month:
1948 Cub without touch control
1951 Cub with touch control
(2) dirt plows (1 will be sold)
(2) sickle bar mowers (1 has been sold)
(2) sets of rear wheel weights
Front wheel weights
Snow plow
Rear mounted buzz saw (I am considering selling/trading this)
Front & rear cultivators
Belt pulley and right angle drive

Both tractors run very well and have not been restored / repainted. I am looking for the following:
Belly mounted Woods 42” mower/bush hog
Single gang disk
Replacement bearings for rocker shafts
Help locating these attachments and parts will be appreciated.

Hi Dan, welcome to the best Cub forum on the internet. There are many members here who can offer answers to any questions you have. If you let us know what specific info you need on each implement we can help you better.

By the way, Bill Hudson, one of our regulars, is about 15 minutes from you so don't be surprised if he invites you to his Cub House. You may even get a personal tutoring on what you have.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Dan,

Welcome!!!! I travel 528 on my way to Middlefield quite often. Probably go within a couple of miles of your place. Lets get together to talk/work on Cubs. :) :)

I'm leaving soon for Williamsfield/Wayne for the tractor show.

Hello Dan and welcome to the forum. There are several members of the forum in N.E Ohio, me being one. Nice looking pair of Cubs. You will be able to find everything you need to know about Cubs here as well as parts from our sponsors and other members. I might be interested in the buzz saw if you plan to sell it.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Within a couple hours of my post, I have already been guided in the right direction.

Regarding the buzz saw. I do not plan to use it and so I would like to trade it for a belly mower and disk. Please note that the buzz saw is missing the power take-off shaft that goes inside the torque tube extension. The former owner suspects it was stolen by a neighbor and used as a tent stake.

Hey Bill,
I just PM'd you. I would like to have you come by and see the pair of Cubs.

Dan

Dan, welcome, I'm not as close as Bill by any means, but I do have a 48 manual lift and a 55 Touch Control. I'm fully restoring the 48 at this time. You are for sure in the right place - Great group of knowledgeable helpful people all working together.

Welcome - Ken

Bill & John stopped by last night for a Micorfest and it was very enlightening. Who knew the pipe plug on the top of the steering gear box is vented? Based on our discussion, I realize that shop time at a Cubfest will be very beneficial. Looking forward to attending the Cub Tug in August.

Dan,

It was a pleasure to meet you and Amy. Enjoyed our time together and look at your great toys! Lets make sure to do it again, your place or the Cubhouse.
