belt problem on c-2 mower

Postby sachavaca » Fri Jul 05, 2013 1:17 pm

I have tractor running again but have not added fenders or hood yet. Mower is working well but the belt gets twisted on pulleys. The idler pulleys are wider than the others so I think they were replaced with wrong size. In picture you can see belt rides at very bottom of idler pulleys. Can anybody confirm this?.

I wanted to post pics of the backhoe I built. When moving it for pics a small part on spool valve broke so its stuck here till part arrives

no it's not bent, just my bad angle with camera, I was trying to show how deep belt is inside idler and v
grove is wider on idler. just seems all pulleys should be the same size v grove

Hard to tell. Looks like the flat side (outs side) of the belt is in the wrong location on the the idler pulleys. Veed portion of the belt should be in the pulley groves. The belt in front of the right idler pulley, appears to be flat side up, or upside down.

Also appears that the belt is not wide enough for the pulley and idlers.
I have an excuse. CRS.

you are correct Eugene, the belt keeps rolling. may have wrong belt , looks like it does not have deep enough v to keep it straight. belt is correct on idler but on edge on jackshaft and spindle pulleys
Thank You Jackson

The belt I have is to short (not helping)
may have wrong idler pulleys per buzzards posting here (half way down the page)

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=74051&p=594930&hilit=danco+c2+mower#p594930

my pulley measures 7 3/8" O.D.

and the profile of my belt is wrong.

anybody know diamater of original pulley?
