for that kind of price you can buy a loader, sometimes with tractor attached.

Check the lift height. Won't load into a manure spreader, trailer or pickup.

Own two skid steers. They cost more money but much more utilitarian. Digs and hauls dirt, gravel and rocks. Landscapes. Loads pickups. Pushes out stumps. Moves snow. Turn on their own radius.

I guess the Johnny Bucket has it's place. As John said though, for that price you can get a loader with a Cub underneath or you can get a pretty nice IH 1000 loader. My Henderson cost me $500.00 and Wagners, Twin Drualic's are available from time to time. usually has one or two from time to time ..

I have problems buying accessories and implements for my tractors, that cost more than the tractors .....Cause as someone said recently on the forum and its very true...." When it comes to 50/60 year old stuff, your just making a down payment on it "..... Often You're going to put more in it for sure....Back on subject I bought a tractor (Ferguson) for less than a Johnny Bucket and that came with a bucket loader....Course I wouldn't mind a small loader for my Cub, but not for more than I paid for the cub....Oops guess I said that Dave

I use a Johnny Buckey on my JD 425 mowing tractor. You'll need extra weights on the rear if you move anything heavy. There is a YouTube video of it on a cub. Maybe the video is also on the Johnny Bucket web site, I didn't look that close. If I had a 12 volt cub I'd use the bucket with it.

I can't use the Johnny Bucket on my cubs since they are 6 volts. I like the Johnny Bucket, even given it's limitations. I understand what the other guys are saying about price, but I'd like to see them remove their loaders as quickly as I can remove the Johnny Bucket. With a loader tractor you need extra room in the shed and a dedicated tractor just to use it a few times a year. Anyhow, I'm satisfied with mine.

It all depends on your needs. if you just want to pick up a little dirt or similar at one place and move it to another, AND have 12 volts, AND the front blade mount, it is good. If you want to be able to pick something up and put it in a trailer or a truck, or on a shelf, then the loader is needed. I do agree, that removing and installing a loader on a cub is time consuming, however I bought a Wagner loader with a cub attached for $2,000 a couple years ago
