Weight control program. Another Cub Ownersip Benifit.

Postby Eugene » Sat Aug 17, 2013 6:39 pm

http://caloriecount.about.com/activitie ... ation-ac11

Using the information in the above program, weighing in at just above 210 lbs, I burn 204 calories per hour driving my Cub.

Doc put me on a weigh loss program in an attempt to reduce blood pressure. Good thing I found this chart. Now I can drive my Cub around for 5 hours mowing grass and burn up 1020 calories. Sure beats walking 2 or 3 miles a day.

If you hit a tree, while watching tv,driving the cub, how many calories burned, repairing the cub, and chopping the tree, into firewood? Ed

There is a section on timbering. I have dropped and been cutting up a large black walnut tree into fire wood for two days. I have managed to lose about 1 1/2 lbs a day cutting up the tree, loading the trailer, hauling to wood pile, unloading the trailer. Not to mention, but the 18" diameter chunks of fire wood length trunk still has to be split with the log splitter.

Doc and medical staff says I need to exercise. Doc said I had to walk one mile a day - which equates to about 20 minutes of light exercise. I said that I usually work every day. Nope doesn't count, gotta walk one mile a day. So every day I walk down hill one mile to get my 20 minutes of exercise in for the day. Tomorrow, I have to spend an hour or two driving in steel fence posts and straighten the fence knocked over by cattle. Then depending on how the fence goes, drop a large honey locust tree and cut into fire wood.

Wait, son is off work tomorrow. Probably have to haul a ton or more of dirt from acreage to son's house. Unload by hand. Skid steer to site, then level by hand. Absolutely no "work" involved.

I bet you're using a chain saw instead of a cross saw. Couch potato! No wonder the Doc sez to walk.

Yup, Carl. 18" chain saw bar. Gets kinda heavy after an hour or two. Although the two man saws work faster than the chain saw, I'm, working alone, got no one willing to work the other end of the two man saws.

If you really want to burn off the calories change an implement before you drive it around.

That's why I have more than one Cub. Use the bigger tractors with 3-point hitch and implements.

Need to drop off the Mott flail mower from the standard Cub and install the street sweeper to push black walnuts into a row. Usually leave the Mott on year around. Not looking forward the the change over. Dropping off the Mott is not bad. It's getting the street sweeper lined up and mounted that is a Herculean task.

Hi Eugene,
Enjoyed all the relies to your post re doctors advice :D Some real funny ones too  It seems to me your doctor is not listening to you re how much work and exercise you do. I have always found that it doesn't matter how much you walk, or how much you exercise, or how much hard physical work you do, unless the regime is also augmented by sticking to a controlled diet. :!: Cub driving is great therapy also :{_}:

Eugene, nothing scares people away, like the opportunity to "volunteer" for hard work! When I don't want to be bothered by anyone, I cut wood! Ed
