If it's any help I had a loboy snowplow listed for $250 and no takers. If not local shipping would kill the deal unless you could cub express it.

I read it as you are thinking about buying it, as you said, "they"....Seems a bit high, but then I paid 175 for one that may not be complete...Worth its weight in Snow Flakes...

John:
There's a loaded question
A new NOS complete late Cub-54A .. David correct me if I am wrong -- over $500.00US. Complete in good shape - probably $350.00. Complete - refurbished with a real nice good paint job - probably $400.00 to $450.00.
Cub-54 -- not so much .. probably around $250.00 TO $300.00 for complete and in top shape. Anything less - from $100.00 to $200.00.
McCormick Deering Blade -- really not so much unless someone is looking for those parts specifically. Probably $100.00 to $200.00 max.
There is a whole range of prices .. remember prices are based on:
That may be on the high side for one that is rusted tight even if complete. I would offer them $200.00 as a start and go from there. A dip in the electrolysis tank will take care of the rust and it being frozen tight.

Rudi, "tight rust" is a term for surface rust that is pretty clean, not loose, flaking or spalling.

Re: cub plow....worth ?
I was using mine to grade my gravel drive and the stress must have broken a brittle seal. My steering gear housing is leaking gear oil. Or maybe that's why I found it empty when I bought it. More work.

Re: cub plow....worth ?
thanks every one for you input , i ended up getting the plow for $200.00 and he asked me to take 2 spring tine and 1 peg harrow for free because his wife was worried the kids would get hurt playing near them. all 3 of the implement were complete enough that i can fabricate the deteriorated parts. thanks again .......John

Re: cub plow....worth ?
I just picked up a lo-boy front plow/grader with complete hardware in 100% structural shape but in poor cosmetic condition for $300 here in Connectciut. It's for my 1954 Cub Betty. It's all mounted, wire-brush cleaned, sanded and the first application of Majic Farmall (IH Red) paint was put on this morning. So far the paint is drying smooth and is very hard. I shook the out of the can to make sure all of the solution components were properly mixed, otherwise it wouldn't dry (my opinion of why so many people have a hard time with it). Anywho - a final thought - the $300 included full chains for the rear tires. If you ask me I got myself a deal.
She thinks my tractor's sexy...

Re: cub plow....worth ?
Calvin, If you are happy with it you got a great deal. Often folks ask about prices on stuff , A good price is what you are willing to pay and the seller is willing to take. Simple as that.

Re: cub plow....worth ?
Boss, i took into consideration everything that everyone had to say,and then the final decision came down to the point you just made. then after two hours with my son turning a wrench and wire brushing i was sure i made the right decisionn
