bad noise from Transmission

Postby ParlowMillFarm » Sat Aug 24, 2013 1:46 pm

I have a bad tapping-like-a-ballpeen-hammer noise coming from my transmission or left final drive. Its not a rat-a-tat-tat, but more like tat (pause) tat.

This only happens when in motion.

I'm thinking something has to come apart for an inspection but any suggestions on where to start?

Check the bolts on the rim centers and the rims .. even the weights. Sounds like you have a loose bolt or two.

Thanks Rudi,

I will look at this tomorrow and let you know - I hope this is it.

Also just read the
left rear final drive thread
, which seems to be my symptoms.

Rudi oh mighty one,

not one or two but three loose nuts - and one nut missing.

Looks like I have some quality control work to do.

Thanks loads for the diagnostics.
