After market step?

Postby cn412gk » Fri Aug 30, 2013 6:52 pm

I started to see these steps which are attached to the front right corner of the platform at two points on first, diecast models of the cub ,and now while I was viewing a Jan. 2013 Classic Tractor Fever video a guy out of Iowa has a 1955 restored Cub with one. Seems like a good thing to help climbing up on the Cub. I haven't seen these available anywhere yet. Somebody must make them. Has anyone seen these or do you have to make them?

Barnyard has them. You can PM him or I'm sure he'll see this soon. If you have fabricating skills, you can make your own. There are several versions that are shown in the "How to" Forum I believe.

You are right. The step does make getting on and off easier. I've seen them on ebay but got mine from Barnyard and would again. Vern

There are a few on eBay. I ordered the 8" clamp-on step only a week ago and it's rock solid. It came in naval gray but a little Majic Farmall Red paint did the trick. This one attaches with no tools and does not rattle. It has been known to catch on a branch or two in the last week but that comes with the territory. PM sent.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I bought two steps from Barnyard and would recomend them. They are better then the ones sold on ebay.

Does anyone know the price of Barnyard's step? I was just thinking what a great B-day gift for the wife! Thanks, Papa.

I am getting two of them. I plan to take the wheel weights off the mower cub; I will be loosing that step (wheel weight hole).

Shoot barnyard a PM for price and if you buy two he can fit them into the same flat rate box and save you on the shipping cost. his price is reasonable compare to ebay only better made and they might be a tad longer helping save what I have left of these old knees.

I sent Barnyard's classified link to my wife as a suggested Xmas gift idea. (she takes these very seriously!) My neighbor is in his 80s and I said I'd give him my eBay step to access his cub. Seems he didn't know they were available. I'm 34 and frequently hike up all sorts of nasty terrain so the little Cub step is more of a neat accessory for me. I feel better now. :D
